Equilateral Technologies today announced it was named a winner in the 2010 R&D 100 awards program, a global competition recognizing the most technologically significant products of the year. Equilateral received the award for AerialView, its antenna analysis and visualization software package. Previous R&D 100 Award winners include the flashcube, the ATM, the halogen lamp, the fax machine, the liquid crystal display, the Kodak Photo CD, the anti-smoking patch, Taxol, lab on a chip, and HDTV.
AerialView is a fast, highly interactive software application designed for engineers, students, and others interested in the analysis and visualization of antenna radiation patterns. AerialView’s interactive 3D visualization allows users to inspect the details of the various lobes and nulls commonly encountered in antenna patterns in a way that is far less tedious and time consuming than reviewing numerical data, and more informative than reviewing 2D patterns. AerialView’s analysis modules include a pattern analysis module that allows users to display the effect of antenna distortion caused by the antenna mounting structure, and a profile feature to analyze and display RF coverage between two antennas.
“We are very pleased that AerialView was recognized by R&D Magazine for this prestigious award.” said Dr. Donna Fagen, CTO of Equilateral Technologies. “Having AerialView selected by the panel of experts that judged submissions is an honor. It also validates our conviction that AerialView is a unique and valuable tool for antenna analysis and visualization.”
